Tango Lessons!

You can't go to Argentina without taking Tango lessons. What I loved the most about the Argentinian Tango is that it's all about communication. It's not a machistic thing where the man must lead the woman, but a communication between the two of them, an understanding of where they are going in a dance and the 3 minutes they have together to discover if they can communicate with each other. Pretty interesting, huh? Here's a video of my first Tango lesson!

Yes!

Empty seat next to me! Score! What more could I ask for on my 11 hour flight? Argentina here I come! :)

I'm leavin' on a jet plane...

Well I'm on my way to Argentina! Luckily, i have a lay over in chicago so i get to have a very quick lunch with Kenny Kim, who doesn't know I'm wearing his shirt as a suprise (see pic of me waiting in an airport restaurant)! Well I'm off to my gate to make sure my flight's still on time. ¡Adiós!

Business Cards!!

Well, the logo is almost finished thanks to the wonderful efforts of Jennifer Young being an amazing graphic artist and with the help of my friends and family giving me input on it.

So I've started to look at business cards and from everything that I know about marketing, business cards are a huge part of your branding and everything else. I've decided to go with a company, 4colorprint.com , which makes silk business cards. I've seen them before and they're gorgeous, but now they got even better because they came up with a thicker card stock for the silk, which makes my card stand out even more.

For those of you who'd like a small peek at my logo so far, here is my mini-logo as I'm calling it (as opposed to the full logo which we're still working on).

And good news with the website. Thanks to the pushing of my fellow photographers, especially kenny who has now linked my under construction website in one of his blogs, now making it totally public and really putting on the pressure, I have completed a huge section and I'm aiming to have at least a first draft live by Thursday when I leave for Argentina. :-) So, I'd better get crackin'!!!

School's almost done!

So by day I am a 3rd-5th grade Spanish teacher, which is really just a wonderful job to have especially since it gives me summer's off to pursue solely wedding photography. This is my first full year of teaching and it's been a challenging and rewarding time for sure. At times more challenging than rewarding, I mean with about 400 students, it's bound to get a little hectic, right?!

At any rate, my 5th graders are leaving, there are new kids coming in for orientation; it's definitely a bit emotional and I never thought it would be (cuz big girls don't cry, ya know)! School is winding down and this is Friday on my last full week of school, and my last day is the 19th. So, here's to my first full year as a SeƱorita Scavone and thanks to all of my students and fellow teachers who have made it a wonderful year!

Father's Day!

Ever wonder what the weekend before Father's Day looks like in a card store? Haha, I guess the rumor that men are the only one's doing things last minute just isn't true!
