Major Website Update

It's about time I got around to this update! You'll now notice that my galleries have all been updated with my last wedding images, the videos are still the same, but the galleries are different. Click here to browse through them, you may even find yourself!!

Photo Video FUSION Albums!

A lot of companies offer photo and video services seperately, it's quite common actually, but what Rob and I have started doing is something brand new that's becoming popular on the west coast and a few edgy companies in NYC, called "Photo Video Fusion" and it's a completely different service.

Fusion combines photos IN the actual video, puts video clips IN the digital photo albums, creates slideshows with photos and video, etc. It's a completely new photographic medium that really hasn't even hit this area yet. Luckily, Rob and I have taken the initiative to start this part of our company up before just about anyone else around here. Just google it to find out more about it.

You've probably already seen an example of our photo video fusion on the intro piece on our websites, or a video/photo fusion slideshow from Jennifer and Matthew's Engagement Party and Ty and Viviane's Wedding. It seems I can hardly contain myself from taking video!!

Well now, Rob and I have created our very first photo/video fusion digital ALBUM! Using Jenni and Kevin's photos and video that we shot together (along with my second shooter Andres Valenzuela), we created a killer piece! Now, it is only digital for the time being but with flimsy technology advancing rapidly and album companies such as Courture Book creating albums with iPod enabled covers...it won't be long before this is a tangible product!

Our goal is to incorporate these into our destination wedding packages with this being something that is shown on the day after the wedding to the attendees at breakfast or brunch. It would be longer in format and likely include more of the reception as well. We already offer our Digital Fusion Album as part of our menu of services and the reaction so far has been great!

My Bridal Shower!

I had such an amazing time at my bridal shower on Sunday!!! My beautiful and wonderful bridesmaids did such an incredible job with everything from putting little details like butterflies on the invitations and decorations to the big things like NOT making me sit through hours of opening presents in front of people. Instead, we shopped and danced; two of my very favorite things! :-) There was jewelry, Tupperware and Pampered Chef there for some shopping, food, amazing desserts, a video "How Well Do You Know Your Groom" game prepared by my love of course (I did pretty well!!!), and even a professional Salsa lesson! Everyone had an amazing time.

I just want to thank over and over again my bridesmaids (Karinn, Marissa, Gen, Megan, Hailey, Kati, Kim and Tina), who really put their hearts and souls into this and even though some of you couldn't make the cross-country trips, I was definitely thinking about you (Brielle, Jennifer and Jill)! for those of you who just learned how many bridesmaids I have...yes there are 11 of the most amazing women in the world. :-)

I have some pictures up here already (compliments of Marissa despite her aching arm) and I'll post some more as soon as I get them from Yvonne and Kati who I saw whipping their Canons around like pros!

Danielle and Joe's Wedding

After many prayers sent up to God for today to have some sunshine, Danielle and Joe had a great wedding WITH outdoor pictures!! The rain held up just enough for us to take some great shots in Lakewood with them and the bridal party.

This was a wedding I've been looking forward to ever since I first met Danielle and even more so since then after a few great conversations over some Starbucks Soy Chai lattes! I was so happy to be there on her special day and I am so excited to see her and her new hubby start their lives together. I even stayed awake after the wedding today to upload some fun stuff! Ty and Viviane's Wedding Reception

Many of you know that my super sweet camera the Canon 5D Mark II shoots some pretty sweet pictures...but did you know it shoot 1080p high def video also? It sure does! Rob and I, of course, have been toying with some photo/video fusion like you see on the front page of our websites and in the interest of expanding that, we've been messing around with some other pieces as well (lots to come folks!).

In the meantime, I've been having a hard time resisting the urge to shoot some video during the reception, like I did at Jennifer and Matthew's Engagement Party, so I did that at Ty and Viviane's wedding this past weekend too! Now mind you, I could NEVER take the place of what Rob does creatively (I believe in being an expert in your own field and not being a Jack of all Trades and a Master of none)...buti t's sure fun putting these pieces together!!

Bridal Magazines Closing

Big news here... Elegant Bride and Modern Bride magazines (along with Cookie and Gourmet) are closing up shop! For more detailed information, click here for the article I read.

We all know that with the Internet so prevalent that there is less going into print...particularly for advertisers. Just think of the Yellow Pages...remember how big it used to be? Now you can't even find most businesses that way because the prices are so high and the return on investment isn't what it used to be since most of us just Google everything. Newspaper sales have been struggling, and magazines are too apparently...I think this is the first big-name magazines that I've seen shutting down. Too bad, I just sent in photo submissions to them! But not to worry...I sent to a lot more...and I'm not going to let anyone know about the outcome...not yet, but we'll just say come December, my photos will be published both locally and internationally in magazines!! Haha, although apparently no one buys the magazines anymore! :-)

If you're a bride reading this...or a bride-to-be...how many magazines did you buy/subscribe to while planning (or pre-planning) for your wedding? I know I bought a few, but I also buy them every once in a while for inspiration for my photography... Let me know ladies. :-)

Ty and Viviane's Wedding

You guys may remember this really fun couple from their engagement session earlier this year and how they used their engagement photos in their wedding reception. Well their wedding day finally came and it was no disappointment! Viviane was an absolute joy to photograph, especially since Yvonne did her makeup, and I learned a few new Portuguese words (always a blast learning new languages)! It was really fun for me to listen to the Portuguese throughout the day/night because I could understand about 70% of it since it's so similar to Spanish.



They had a windy day at the Ocean Place Resort in Long Branch, but it was a beautiful day with an AMAZING sky (a photographer's favorite thing). EnJOY the slide-show!

Grand Opening!

Thank you so much to everyone who came and supported our Grand Opening of the Freehold studio!! We had a lovely time with food, drinks, goodie bags and of coruse friends and family. At last, here are some pictures of the day of and of our new space!

Jenni and Kevin's Wedding

What a great wedding last night!! It was definitely full of firsts for Rob (yes we got to work together AGAIN this weekend :-) ) and I; and that's pretty hard to do!

Jenni is a great planned and she did an AMAZING job decorating Water's Edge in Sea Bright by bringing in her own chairs, linens and chargers and having them take down the tuile and things they usually have around the room. Haha, we know she would've ripped up the carpet if they let her, but it really was the best that I have ever seen that room look.

The biggest first that Rob and I saw was the Goldfish tradition. Apparently for every LIVE goldfish swallowed, it's one year good luck for the bride and groom. So after Kevin and Jenni swallowed theirs, a TON of people came up to swallow some themselves! They certainly have quite a few years of good luck! I'll update you as soon as Rob puts the video of it on YouTube.

The best first that I had was Jenni had Ralph from Premier DJ (the DJ that will be at our wedding) play Black Betty! She sought me out and grabbed me for a dance and it was a blast! For those of you who don't know, my dad was the lead singer in the band that made that song famous, Ram Jam. Although he sang back-up for that particular song, he recently received an offer to re-record the song with his vocals! Don't worry, Rob will have that video of Jenni and I up on YouTube soon too!!
